2024 Bay Roberts

The Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games 2024 in Bay Roberts were a remarkable display of athletic talent, community spirit, and regional pride. Originally scheduled for 2020, the Games were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making their return in 2024 even more special. Athletes from across the province came together to compete in a variety of sports, showcasing their dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship. Bay Roberts vibrant community and welcoming atmosphere proved to be an excellent host, offering outstanding facilities and support for athletes and spectators alike. The event not only celebrated athletic achievement but also fostered connections, inspired youth participation, and left a lasting legacy for sports development across Newfoundland and Labrador. The 2024 Games were truly a memorable and impactful event for all involved.

Final Results

The 2024 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games in Bay Roberts featured intense competition across various sports, with standout performances in every event.

In Artistic Swimming, Mount Pearl/South took the top spot, followed closely by St. John's/North, while Avalon rounded out the top three. Ball Hockey saw Mount Pearl/South dominate in both male and female categories, earning gold in both divisions. In Baseball, Mount Pearl/South shone in the male category, while St. John's/North led the female division.

Soccer had exciting matches with Mount Pearl/South claiming victory in the male category and St. John's/North winning the female title. Softball had Avalon winning the female division and St. John's/North taking gold in the male competition. Swimming saw Mount Pearl/South at the forefront, and Tennis was competitive, with Western winning the female division and Mount Pearl/South securing the top spot in the male division.

In Athletics, Western dominated overall with a combined score of 1,063 points between the boys' and girls' teams. Across all sports, Mount Pearl/South emerged as the overall top region in points, with St. John’s/North finishing a close second. The Games were a celebration of athletic talent, sportsmanship, and regional pride, bringing together athletes from all over Newfoundland and Labrador.

Awards Ceremony

The 2024 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games also celebrated exceptional regional and athletic achievement through three prestigious awards. The Premier's Cup was awarded to the region with the highest overall points, recognizing their dedication, teamwork, and success throughout the competition. The Sport Newfoundland and Labrador Trophy was presented to the region demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship, commitment to fair play, and positive team spirit both on and off the field. Lastly, the Lieutenant Governor's Award honoured the region that embodied the true spirit of the Games by showcasing perseverance, effort, and a strong sense of community. These awards highlighted the values of competition, camaraderie, and sportsmanship that made the Games a memorable event for all.
