1976 Stephenville - Corner Brook
The 1976 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games, co-hosted by Stephenville and Corner Brook, marked a significant milestone as the first multi-sport event in the current format, following the Games’ initiation in 1974 as regional competitions. Set against the scenic backdrop of western Newfoundland, the Games featured a variety of summer sports that pushed athletes to excel in a competitive yet supportive atmosphere. This collaboration showcased not only athletic talent but also the strength of community spirit and teamwork, leaving a lasting impact on both local and sporting communities.
