Chef's Corner 

Team NL arrived safely and are excited to attend the 2022 Canada Summer Games after a historic welcome at Niagara Regional Airport. Team NL were aboard the first 737 aircraft to land into Niagara, where people of Niagara warmly welcomed the team.

The Niagara host society organized an opening ceremony extravaganza which was filled with music, excitement and culture, which represents Canada Games movement.

We are excited for tomorrow as Team NL opens with competition in baseball, soccer, swimming, and female softball.

I am so proud of our Team , you “Rock”!

2022 opening ceremonies

Team NL attended the Opening Ceremonies for the 2022 Niagara Canada Summer Games at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines August 6th starting at 8pm. 

After a day spent at the athletes village at Brock University, all of the athletes were excited and proud to wear their full Team NL gear into the ceremonies. 

13 for 13 Festival 

The 13 for 13 Festival at Niagara Canada Summer Games is bringing Newfoundland family fun activities and live entertainment to the celebrations with an East Coast Kitchen Party! The fun happens Sunday, Augsut 7th from 12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. The admission-free event features all-day programming featuring family fun activities and live entertainment, including Shanneyganock and LadyLike from Newfoundland & Labrador, as well some of Ontario’s hottest homegrown talent.

CCES ANTI-DOPING TRAINING

Team NL is the first contingent to be 100% compliant on CCES. As part of attending the Niagara Canada Summer Games, Team NL mission staff, athletes, and coaches were required to complete Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport e-learning training, including True Sport Clean training which promotes values in sport and addresses the components of the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP). Modules included information about substances and methods on the Prohibited List, the sample collection process, the whereabouts program, athlete rights and responsibilities, supplements, and more.

Team NL arrival into Niagara

Team NL had a busy travel day yesterday arriving into Niagara. While Team NL athletes had a long travel day it was a distinct privilege to be able to be one of the first teams to arrive to Niagara on a charter flight to land directly into Niagara at the Niagara District Airport, alongside Team New Brunswick.
